In 1994, Lois Schnizlein founded the Illinois LOIS Club. Through her efforts the club grew to 375 members necessitating dividing the club into three chapters: Northern, Southern and central Chicago. She continued to foster and expand the Central Chicago group to where we now have 163 members, the youngest of whom is 3 1&Mac218;2 years old. Although Lois Schnizlein moved to Wisconsin last year, her legacy lives on.
Our meetings are purely social, held on the fifth Tuesday of the month, which occurs 4 to 5 times a year. Our luncheons are held in the southwestern suburbs of Chicago. We usually have lunch (occasionally dinner), entertainment and the opportunity to get to know a lot of other Loises. Our focus is on having fun. There are no strangers in a club where everyone knows your name.
A month prior to each meeting we publish a newsletter that is filled with LOIS news, as well as information about the luncheon location and menu. We welcome new members. To qualify all you need is the name LOIS.
